My life hangs by a thread...I was messing with my new computer the other day and managed to corrup the master boot record or the partition table or something. Regardless, the drive is now unreadable. *sigh* And of course, I had no backups. How did I do that? Well, I had moved my backups to the new computer, and had been removing them from the old backup source to free up space. I hadn't gotten around to re-backing up the data from the new computer yet when the drive got fubared. So now about 100 GB of data - including all my pics, my software, everything - is over at Microworx trying to get recovered. Until then, I guess I just wait.

that sucks the big one!!! i wouldn't know where to begin to piece my life back together should my HD fail. about how much does it cost to recover HD data?
There are two kinds of people.
1) Those who have not backed up, and have not gotten burned.
AND
2) Those who HAVE gotten burned and now back up regularly.
