Spiderman 2 UGH!!...
I went and saw Spiderman 2 this last weekend. Ugh. Double Ugh. I don't know what in the world got into the reviewers because it received really good reviews. I thought it stunk to high heaven.
I know it's hard to say this about a movie featuring a college student who can climb walls and shoot webs out of his wrists, but it was just unrealistic. Perhaps this is my teenage-comic-book-nerd coming out, but I remember the comic book quite clearly, and Spiderman was not invulnerable. He was a regular guy who got hurt just like everyone else. He just had some other super powers.
All of a sudden though, he's falling off of 10 story buildings and not getting hurt, catching entire walls and holding them up, and stopping commuter trains with his bare hands? Come on now. The ammount of stuff that happened to him in that movie was just ridiculous. He's not Superman, he's Spiderman, which is really part of the character's charm. He's a regular guy who can do some cool stuff.
But the absolute end for me was when they decided they could extinguish an out of control fusion reaction by drowning it in the East River. I'm as willing as anyone to suspend my disbelief for the sake of the story but even I have my limits.
IT'S A FRIGGIN' FUSION REACTION FOR GODS SAKE!! Last I checked nuclear reactions aren't much effected by water, but what do I know. I'll bet when the folks at Chernobyl saw that, they were kicking themselves for not thinking of it themselves (and yes, I do know that normal nuclear power plants operate with fission reactions, not fusion reactions. The principle still applies.)
*Sigh* Oh well. Chalk up another super hero movie franchise to the junk yard. At least Batman made it to number three before it got stupid.

What a rush!...
eBay is so much fun! I can see why people get addicted. I was
bidding on an item this morning and swooped in at the last second to win the auction. VICTORY!! I mean, I was actually nervous waiting those last two minutes to see if I would win or someone else would try to come in at the last second and out bid me. It's better than a roller coaster! Plus, you end up with cool stuff when it's all over rather just an upset stomach and a cheesy picture of you screaming like a little girl.
Man, I need to buy some eBay stock. Those folks have got one heck of a business model.

Three days off...
What are the odds?? It's like being on vacation. I have
three days in a row off! What ever shall I do with myself? I think I'm going to go running, maybe do a little shopping. Get some work done around the house. We'll see. It's just nice to be away from Starbucks for a few days. I needed to get out of there for a bit and clear my head.
More on that later though.

So is this a little awkward??...
Ok, so my ex-girlfriend is on IM right now, and my current girlfriend is insisting I should chat with her. I can't decide if this is weird or slightly arousing *lol* How do you spell menage' toi? Of course, it's difficult to ask for a spelling when you're writing.
*sigh* Women are so odd sometimes.
In other news, my boss announced today that she's leaving the store for another store. Looks like I get to run the store for a couple of months until they find a permanent replacement. This could be my chance to get promoted though, so this may work out in my favor eventually. Keep your fingers crossed! It would be nice to finally have my own show to run. I love the store I'm in right now and it would be nice to stay there. If I didn't get the slot, I would probably be transferred to another store. But that would be ok too. A good learning experience no matter what happens.
